About Wendy
Wendy has held senior executive administration and communication roles in both the private and public sectors (including health care, housing and education). It was in her most recent role, as Assistant Company Secretary and Corporate Business Manager, at the UK’s largest community health trust, that Wendy acquired her experience of corporate governance. Her role followed Monitor’s Code of Governance for NHS Foundation Trusts which is widely adopted across the NHS.
Her responsibilities included the administration of the board and its committees and managing the flow of information between the board, committees and senior management team. Wendy was a first point of contact and a trusted advisor for board members and she played a central role advising the board on current governance matters; reviewing terms of reference and the annual cycle of business; managing the board’s induction and development programme; and reviewing the board’s compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
She has participated in external board and senior management team reviews and has led a number of internal 360-degree board reviews. Having led a number of internal reviews and investigations, Wendy has proven experience in both planning and leading highly confidential and sensitive projects. She has experience of leading audits and is a BSA qualified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor and a Prince2 qualified Project Manager.
