About James

With six years of specialism in board evaluation, James has worked extensively with boards of FTSE-listed organisations and financial services.  He was part of a team which undertook the main work stream for the FRC’s Culture Coalition in 2016, which included interviews with CEOs, Company Secretaries and 65 Chairmen from the FTSE 350.  This work informed the new Corporate Governance Code regarding the Board’s role around culture.

James’ clients include FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies, banks, insurers, regulated subsidiaries, regulators, REITs, fund managers, government arm’s length bodies, private companies, membership organisations and charities.  He has worked with boards from most industry sectors including oil & gas, basic materials, industrials, consumer goods, consumer services, health care, telecommunications and technology.

James is a member of the Advisory Board of the Next Generation NED Network and has guest lectured at Exeter and Newcastle Universities on corporate governance and culture.  Prior to his consultancy work, James was involved in the governance of a new University Technical College.
